Who We Are
Since 1970, Sanskriti remains a champion of Bengali culture and heritage in the Washington DC-MD-VA area. Registered in the state of Maryland on May 17, 1976, Sanskriti Inc. is a non-profit 501c(3) charitable organization that continually enriches the Indian diaspora, the DMV community and their well-wishers. Towards this purpose, Sanskriti lends its support to multiple charitable organizations across the world and remains committed to enliven our legacy among the Next Gen Bengali community.
Sanskriti organizes a spectrum of year-around events to foster friendship and collaborations among its members and stakeholders. Sanskrit’s main event is the weekend-long Durga Puja, which typically attracts more than 700 people from entire US East Coast.
Recognizing its members as the true asset, Sanskriti represents an array of esteemed doctors, scientists, thinkers, engineers, leaders, social workers, and entrepreneurs, and we are thrilled to be the witness of a continual expansion of this roster.

Sanskriti’s Year Around Activities
Sanskriti organizes a spectrum of year-around socio-cultural events. Following is the list of Sanskriti’s typical yearly celebrations.
- Saraswati Puja
- Baisakhi (Bengali New Year and Rabindra Jayanti)
- Picnic (an outdoor activity)
- Durga Puja (typically a three-evening long event)
Sanskriti also organizes and participates in a number of musical and theatrical events, film shows and sports events.
