President’s Note
January 2025
Dear Sanskriti Members and Well-Wishers,
On behalf of Sanskriti Board 2025, we wish you and your family a very happy and joy-filled New Year! We would also like to thank the Board of Directors 2024 for their hard work and dedication in the past year.
Sanskriti is a second home to all of us. Sanskriti’s puja is like our barir puja. We are all indebted to Sanskriti, as this community is a place where we, as well as our second generation, have received the opportunity to participate in Bengali culture, festivals, and community here in the US. Without Sanskriti, we could not provide such a rich cultural education and cultural heritage to our kids. Sanskriti would not have persisted for 50+ years without the tireless effort, devotion, and hard work of so many people throughout the years. Sanskriti is not only made up of a Board of Directors, it is a joint effort of every member of the community. We appeal to all our fellow Sanskriti members to work together towards creating a Bengali community filled with culture, community, and common sense of joy.
We would also like to give everyone an update on Sanskriti’s activities for the coming year.
We will hold Saraswati Puja at High Point HS, Beltsville which is in Prince Georges County (booked by BOD 2024) instead of within Montgomery County. MCPS has informed 2024 BOD after Durga Puja 2024 that Sanskriti will not be able to conduct any event in an MCPS school for 18 months, citing various discrepancies. It is always a challenge to secure a venue for Durga Puja within MCPS schools, so Sanskriti BOD 2025 is working to resolve these issues along with the Community Council.
Please follow our announcements through our emails or on our website and Facebook page.
If you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at president@sanskriti-dc.org.
Once again, we wish you all our warmest season’s greetings and happiness in the New Year.
We hope to see everyone at Saraswati Puja 2025 on February 2nd, 2025!
Best regards,
Mitali Chatterjee
